A Star Is Born...
Delivered at Aiken Regional Hospital and raised in Monetta, SC by his mother Cynthia and aunt Phyllis, Christou found many ways to keep himself busy and entertained throughout his youth. Born as Cedric Orion Dennis, imagination and inquisition charged the mind of the young talented artist. His start of public performance came at age 3 through the vibrant church music scene. He had no fear of stepping in front of a congregation and singing in such a spiritual fashion that not many his age possessed. Displays of his musical talents further continued in school through performances in school plays, talent shows, marching band and orchestra. By twelve, he began recording in Augusta, GA with artist Revalation under the direction of his uncle English "E-side" Dennis, who started managing him as an artist. Christou intitaily wanted to become a visual artist and animator, being that he can draw and design, but his path has always been directed back towards music where his strongest talent resides. Throughout high school he remained active in many areas, including the yearbook staff, sports programs, academic teams, event coordination, and tutoring. Later studying music and mass communications at Lander University , Christou began to quickly understand more about networking and expanding his career in the entertainment industry. Not completing his studies, he began to pursue the music industry head strong with the support of his family and friends.
In 2006, Christou joined with artist/producer B. Howell under his developing independent label F.A.M.I.S.H.E.D. Ent. There he developed his keen sense of creating memorable hooks and choruses. The team would hit different towns and perform in various shows and contests. Around his time of working with F.A.M.I.S.H.E.D., he developed a network of friendship & collaboration with fellow South Carolina independent heavy-hitters such as Collard Green, Charlemagne The god, Lil Ru, Mr. Flip, DJ B Lord, DJ Lord Jazz, Piazo & Lil Brod. His first unofficial song release of "Model Chic" landed him shows throughout South Carolina and the start of a growing fan base.
Musical Growth & Development...
In 2007, Christou befriended female rap artist VAthaBossChick and joined her as a contributing part of her independent company, U No Entertainment, which gained him the experience of more show performances and opportunities like recording in Grand Hustle Studio for the first time as a feature. He initially acted as the hype man for her performances and opened up with her at Power Fest hosted by Augusta GA radio station Power 107. He later found the opportunity to network with Pure Pain artist Kenny Kane and collaborate on songs that would soon push him toward radio recognition. The hit single also won an SC Music Award in 2010 for Single Of The Year. It put Christou in the nomination category for Best R&B artist in the same year as well. The hit song even prompted national rap recording artist Rocko Tha Don to personally contact and congratulate Christou on delivering the successful hook. In the spring and winter of 2011, he produced his first two projects; the mixtape Gamecocky that was cleverly titled from his love of the University of South Carolina's sports program mixed with his confident attitude towards entering the music industry, and Quiet Storm, which was themed off of the classic late night radio show. He released them digitally as well as with hard copy cd in the streets of South Carolina. Quiet Storm gained him an even greater fan base as well as continuous shows and appearances.
